The history of the Shivalaya situated in Talgram town in Kannauj district is 250 years old. Damru shaped Shivalinga is installed here. Every wish of the devotees asked with true heart and faith is fulfilled. This is the reason why devotees not only from nearby but also from far away places come to perform Jalabhishek on Shivratri to pay their obeisance at Lord Bholenath.
Sevadar Suresh Chandra Kanojia, who looks after the Shivala temple, says that the Khadua family laid its foundation and gave shape to the temple. A big damru shaped Shivalinga is installed in Shivala. In the lower part of this Shivling, there is a lotus in the hand of Brahmaji and in the middle there is a lotus of Lakshmiji. Lord Bholenath is seated above. The idol of white Nandi is installed. After the Kharua family, Lala Durga Shankar and his family took care of it for a few years.
He told that in olden times, after meeting Lala Jaiprakash, the renovation was done with Rs 50 thousand. They say that a wish made with a true heart in the temple definitely gets fulfilled. Sevadar Rajesh Kumar Bhole and Mangulal say that Shivalaya is a symbol of faith of innumerable people. Every Monday and during Mahashivratri and Sawan month, devotees come to the temple for Jalabhishek. Devotees believe that Bholenath fulfills the wishes of the devotees. There is no temple committee. It is maintained with collective cooperation.
